The Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) program aims to
establish a robust and effective import inspection
system that ensures compliance with the regulations of the destination country. This initiative
is designed to safeguard
consumers, promote fair trade practices, and streamline customs clearance processes.
Under the PVoC scheme, businesses exporting regulated goods to countries like Uganda (UNBS),
Tanzania (TBS), Kenya
(KEBS), Nigeria (SON), Egypt (GOEIC), Morocco (MCI), Cameroon (ANOR), Ghana (Easy Pass), Ivory
Coast, and others are
required to have their products inspected, tested, and certified to meet the country-specific
standards. These regulated
products are identified using Harmonized System (HS) Codes, which categorize products based on
international trade
classifications.
Before export, each shipment must obtain a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) from an authorized
certification body. This
certificate verifies that the goods comply with the importing country's standards, ensuring
smooth entry into the market
and avoiding costly delays or rejections at customs.
These advantages make the PVoC program a critical tool for exporters seeking to enter regulated markets smoothly and efficiently.
